(WNFL) – Three Green Bay Packers were named to the “Super Bowl 50 Golden Team,” as selected by Pro Football Hall of Fame voters. Offensive tackle Forrest Gregg is the only player to come from the Super Bowl I and Super Bowl II teams. Defensive end Reggie White and kick returner Desmond Howard were honored from the Packers’ Super Bowl XXXI team, which knocked off the New England patriots, 35-21, on Jan. 26, 1997 in New Orleans. White broke a Super Bowl record with three sacks of Patriots QB Drew Bledsoe. Howard became the first special-teams player to be named the Super Bowl’s MVP after he returned four kickoffs for 154 yards, including a 99-yard return for Green Bay’s final touchdown. He also returned six punts for 90 yards.
