MENOMINEE, MI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man and woman from Green Bay were jailed on drug charges following a weekend chase in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Menominee County sheriff’s officials say around 8:20 p.m. Friday, Delta County deputies tried to pull over a vehicle on S. Lincoln Road in Escanaba. The vehicle instead led officers on a chase. During the chase, the front-seat passenger threw items out of the window to try to disable the law enforcement vehicles.
As the chase entered Menominee County, deputies put out “stop sticks” to try to pop the vehicle’s tries. The vehicle continued on three tires until it got to the Interstate Bridge. There, the driver lost control and the vehicle crashed.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on recommended charges including fleeing and eluding, and possession of meth. The passenger, an 18-year-old woman, was arrested on two recommended counts of obstructing justice and possession of meth.
Both were taken to the Delta County Correctional Facility. Their names were not released.
