(WNFL) – Washington, DC – Junior Guerra combined with two relievers on a four-hitter as the Brewers edged the Nationals 1-0 in the first of a three-game series at Nationals Park. Guerra struck out seven while allowing two hits and two walks over seven and a third innings to improve to 6-and-1. Jeremy Jeffress got the final three outs for his 22nd save. Martin Maldonado provided the game’s lone run with a solo homer in the fifth inning. Max Scherzer [[ SURE-zur ]] pitched six innings of one-run ball to fall to 9-and-6. Jayson Werth and Danny Espinosa had hits for Washington.
