RYE, N.Y. – St. Norbert College scored all of its goals in a dominating second period as the Green Knights claimed a 3-1 win over Manhattanville College in an interregional non-conference game at Playland Ice Casino. The Green Knights (8-1), ranked No. 1 in the USCHO.com and D3hockey.com polls, outshot the Valiants (5-4) by a 16-4 margin in the decisive second period. Roman Uchyn registered his sixth goal of the season when he scored at 1:43 of the second period. The Green Knights doubled their lead when Kurt Black scored his first collegiate goal with a power-play marker at 8:20. St. Norbert took a three-goal lead at 13:48 when Tyler Andrews scored for the second time this season. Manhattanville mounted a rally in the third period, outshooting St. Norbert 8-6. The Valiants scored the period’s only goal when Matt Lippa scored at 7:51. The Valiants had 1:10 of extra-attacker time at the end of the game but couldn’t pull any closer in the first game of a two-game series. Brad Pung finished with two assists for the Green Knights’ lone two-point game. St. Norbert outshot Manhattanville 35-19. T.J. Black made 18 saves for the Green Knights, while Tyler Feaver made 32 stops for the Valiants. St. Norbert was 1-for-3 on the power play, while Manhattanville was 0-for-2.
