APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — The bipartisan federal infrastructure bill passed by the house and senate is expected to have an impact in Northeast Wisconsin.
Jacob Brunoehler is a regional engineer with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and says there’s a lot to improve.
“Our Wisconsin Report Card for Infrastructure gave our infrastructure a ‘C’, and that’s across all infrastructure segments,” Brunoehler told WTAQ.
Brunoehler says northeast Wisconsin has a number of infrastructure needs, particularly when it comes to roads, water, and broadband internet.
“Wisconsin’s infrastructure is currently meeting the needs of its citizens and allowing for some economic growth,” Brunoehler said. “But those systems will continue to require attention.”
The $1.2 trillion federal infrastructure bill is expected to be signed by President Joe Biden as soon as this week.
