The St. Norbert College Green Knights have hired a women’s basketball coach for the first time since 1977.
Athletic Director Tim Bald introduced Amanda Leonhard-Perry Thursday afternoon to succeed Connie Tilley who directed the women’s program for the past 42 years.
Leonhard-Perry comes to St. Norbert from the University of Wisconsin Green Bay where she was both a standout player and longtime assistant coach. She graduated from GB in 2003 after helping the Phoenix to three NCAA Tournament berths in four years.
After helping out Green Bay Preble High School and taking an assistant job at North Dakota State, Leonhard-Perry returned to alma mater where she’s been a top assistant coach the past 11 seasons under Matt Bollant and Kevin Borseth.
Leonhard-Perry will officially being her duties on June first.
