GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay Police are asking drivers to slow down and stop for crossing guards along school bus routes.
Police Commander Kevin Warych says there have been problems this year, especially on the near west side on Ashland Avenue.
“Sadly, what we’re seeing are people flying through crossing guard crosswalks,” said Warych. “Ignoring the stop signs, putting kids and crossing guards at risk.”
Waych says crossing guards are trained to take down license plate info and vehicle descriptions of cars that violate traffic laws.
Police say they will go after people who violate rules at guarded crossings.
