NEENAH, WI (WTAQ) — With the return of Halloween parties and trick-or-treating doctors are warning those celebrating to be careful.
Dr. Long Nguyen with Thedacare says COVID-19 prevention strategies should still be practiced.
“Obviously, COVID is still around,” he told WTAQ. “We want to make sure we keep that in the back of our minds as we go out and return to normal activity.”
It’s not just COVID parents should look out for.
“There are a lot of different viruses, not just COVID. Flu, rhinovirus, all produce cold-like symptoms,” said Nguyen. “You want to keep that in mind and wash your hands often.”
Nguyen says street safety should also be practiced, and parents should check their children’s candy, discarding homemade treats and already-opened pre-packaged candies.
Thedacare has listed a number of safety recommendations on their website.
