Jason Mendez-Ramos (GBPD)
GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — There is little new information surrounding the apparent killing of a man whose body was found on the UW-Green Bay Campus last month.
The body of 36-year-old Jason Mendez-Ramos was found in a wooded area of the campus, although police believe that isn’t where he was killed.
Police Captain Ben Allen says they’ve been following up on a number of leads.
“It’s kind of like a massive puzzle that we’re trying to find where all of the pieces fit back together,” said Allen. “So any bit of information, we are following up on that, and gathering good information.”
Allen says the investigation was complicated by the fact that they weren’t immediately able to identify the victim.
“Once his identity was confirmed, we were able to make up a lot of time,” Allen told WTAQ. “Our detectives are putting a lot of man hours into this one.”
Police are still seeking additional information and are looking for his vehicle, a red 2010 Ford Fusion with Wisconsin license plate AMJ-2523.
