GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Drivers are asked to avoid an area on Green Bay’s west side after a semi truck struck a utility pole.
Police say it happened on S. Oneida Street near Western Avenue, shearing the pole in half and knocking down power lines.
Wisconsin Public Service is on scene and working to replace the pole and restore power to the area.
The power at nearby Franklin Middle School may also be affected. School administration has been made aware of the possible outages.
The following streets will be closed for several hours:
S. Oneida St. north of W. Mason St. and south of Western Ave.
Lore Ln. east of Franklin Middle School to S. Oneida St.
Please use alternative streets:
Maryhill Dr. or S. Locust St. to connect between W. Mason St. and Western Ave.
If approaching Franklin Middle School, please approach from Maryhill Dr.
