GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Hortonville man has been charged in federal court with receiving and possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors say a federal grand jury issued the indictment Tuesday against 48-year-old Jeffrey J. Wagner.
Wagner is accused of knowingly receiving and possessing sexually explicit videos of prepubescent children in March. If convicted, he faces 5-30 years in federal prison.
“The protection of our nation’s children is a top priority of the Department of Justice,” said Richard Frohling, acting United States attorney of the Eastern District of Wisconsin, in a news release. “Individuals involved in the receipt or distribution of child pornography will be prosecuted aggressively and will face real time in federal prison.”
The Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office and state Department of Justice’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigated the case.
