FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A Fond du Lac County road construction project is complete after more than a year of work.
The rural portion of the WIS 23 Expansion Project between Seven Hills Road and the Fond du Lac/Sheboygan County line will open by midday Thursday.
County G has been closed and detoured since May 2020 as part of the WIS 23 four-lane, on-alignment expansion project in Sheboygan and Fond du Lac Counties.
Work included the grading and paving of the additional lanes, grading and paving of an extension of the Old Plank Road Trail, a new interchange at County G, drainage culverts and storm sewer, westbound WIS 23 and Old Plank Road Trail structures over the Sheboygan River, a wetland mitigation site, and other incidental items.
