CALUMET COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — Human remains have been found in High Cliff State Park.
A police presence there has closed off part of the park in Calumet County.
The state crime lab has been called to the scene, according to the Department of Justice.
Calumet County Sheriff Mark Wiegert says they’re not sure how long the remains have been there or if there is any sign of foul play. He says the remains have been there for “months, possibly quite longer”, but added that no known burial site was in the area.
