OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Work is underway in Oshkosh to remodel a vacant building and turn it into an apartment building.
On Wednesday, crews held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Miles Kimball Lofts project. It’s located on S. Main Street between 8th and 9th avenues.
There will be 28 market-rate units for studios and two-bedroom apartments. The building has wood floors and high ceilings.
“All of that will be exposed in the units,” said Kip Golden, CR Structures co-owner and executive vice president. “It will really give that old-school factory-type look to this building, so we think… people are really gonna love that.”
Officials say this fills a need for housing in the Fox Valley.
The plan is to open next spring.
