FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ) – Fond Du Lac PD says a SWAT team used an explosive breach to get a domestic violence suspect into custody.
Cops get a call for help just after 7 p.m. Sunday on W. Scott St.
The victim reported that a 33-year-old man was armed with a knife and making threats.
The man ran away before police arrived and his vehicle was found in the area of Donohue Ct. Police also learned the man was wanted on numerous other charges from previous domestic incidents involving the victim.
Officers were able to determine the man was inside an apartment on Donohue Ct. Officers tried to make phone contact with the man, however the man refused to cooperate or surrender. He also made statements about harming himself, police say.
The Fond du Lac Police Department SWAT and Crisis Negotiation teams were called to the scene. Negotiations with the man were established but unsuccessful.
SWAT team members then used an explosive breach and OC munitions were deployed into the apartment.
Shortly after the man surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
There were no injuries reported.
