STURGEON BAY, WI (WTAQ) — It’s been a banner year for tourism in Door County.
Destination Door County Interim CEO Jon Jarosh (JARSH) says that the 2021 tourism season was a big one.
“We are up over last year in pretty much all aspects,” said Jarosh. “We’re up over 2019 as well, which was a really solid year for tourism in Door County.”
Jarosh points to Door County’s outdoor attractions and recreation which brought people in during the pandemic.
“Our outdoor recreational opportunities have seen really strong demand,” Jarosh said. “Biking, kayaking, hiking.”
Jarosh says he expects that fall and winter tourism seasons to be robust as well.
