GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — As the labor day weekend arrives, we’re looking at summer in the rear view mirror.
It was a little warmer than usual this summer, and what started unusually dry ended unusually wet.
“It was a little bit warmer this summer than the average summer usually is,” said National Weather Service Meterorologist Timm Uhlmann. “It was a little bit unusual because the first few months were unusually dry. We had quite a bit of rain in August, and now we’re actually above the normal amount of precipitation for the end of summer.”
The seasons are changing, but he says you shouldn’t expect it to change too quickly.
“It will be a little above normal, temperature wise,” Uhlmann said of the next three months. “Once we get through the cooler stuff here for the next couple of weeks, we should be above normal again.”
A quick freeze isn’t expected. Temperatures are currently slightly below normal, but Uhlmann says you shouldn’t expect the first freeze until either late September or early October.
