FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than $300,000 worth of illegal drugs were discovered during a traffic stop in Fond du Lac.
A deputy made a traffic stop on I-41, near U.S. Highway 151, just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.
During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy noticed indicators of drug use and other circumstances that led him to believe the two men in the vehicle may be in possession of illegal drugs.
K9 Officer Ace investigated and gave a strong alert on the vehicle and a subsequent search was conducted, officials say.
Inside the vehicle, authorities found more than five pounds of methamphetamine, more than 13 grams of crack cocaine, more than 16 pounds of marijuana and a loaded .357 magnum revolver.
Both occupants of the vehicle, Senen Rosado, 40, and Ian Stradins, 38, both of the Milwaukee-area, were arrested.
They face multiple charges including possession with intent to deliver amphetamine, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver THC and possession of a firearm as a convicted felon.
The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office adds it currently employs two K9 teams who work throughout the year to detect illegal drugs in the community and on highways. Although this seizure was significant, both K9 teams combined have detected and removed notable quantities of illegal and dangerous drugs from the streets including heroin, MDMA (ecstasy), crack, cocaine, marijuana, methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, illegally possessed narcotic medications, cash used in the drug trade, and firearms and other weapons carried by drug dealers, they say.
