IRON MOUNTAIN, MI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay man died in an electric scooter crash in the U.P. over the weekend.
It happened in the 800 block of S. Carpenter Ave. in Iron Mountain, Michigan around 9:45 p.m. Saturday.
Officials say four adults were each riding on electric scooters on the sidewalk when one of them crashed.
The 39-year-old Green Bay man sustained fatal injuries and passed away at a Dickinson County hospital within an hour of the incident.
Although not required by law, the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Individuals under the age of 19 are required by law to wear a crash helmet while using an electric scooter.
