GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The Green Bay Packers drop their second game of the NFL preseason, dropping a 23-14 decision to the New York Jets at Lambeau Field Saturday afternoon.
The Packers took the lead 14-10 in a seesaw first half before the Jets the last 13 points of the game.
3 turnovers didn’t help the the Packers cause and statistically the game was pretty even.
Once again Packers MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers did not play and first round draft pick Jordan Love sat out the game as well as he recovers from a should injury.
Kurt Benkert played all but the last Packers series and went 18 of 25 for 151 yards with a TD and an interception.
Green Bay closes out the preseason next Saturday afternoon when they hit the road to play the Bills in Buffalo.
Packers open the NFL regular season Sunday, September 12th in New Orleans and a date with the Saints.
