FRANCIS CREEK, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were hurt after a vehicle collided into a building in Manitowoc County.
And alcohol and speed appear to be factors, sheriff officials say.
Crews were called to the intersection of County Highway R and County Highway V in the village of Francis Creek just before 1:30 a.m. Monday.
Deputies say the 32-year-old driver from Cudahy failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and drove into the St. Anne School on S. Packer Drive.
Both the driver and his passenger, a 21-year-old Milwaukee man, had to be extricated from the vehicle.
The driver was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
His passenger was flown to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies say they are recommending charges against driver, including operating while intoxicated- causing great bodily harm.
