RIPON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Ripon residents are advised to be aware of scam calls after strong storms knocked out power throughout much of the city this week.
According to Ripon police, residents have received calls stating they have 30 minutes to pay their utility bill. If not, services will be disconnected.
Those who receive these calls should not make any payments and instead contact Alliant Energy for billings.
With several contractors having arrived to help with cleanup, residents are encouraged to get an estimate and check their insurance policies and references prior to having any work done.
