RIPON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Ripon’s city administrator is asking residents to stay inside their homes due to overnight storm damage.
Adam Sonntag says emergency response crews are assessing the damage.
Sonntag says the area also has extensive property damage and about 9,000 residents are without power.
He says the Ripon Fire Department responded to numerous calls overnight, including two house fires. One of the house fires was caused by a generator.
At this time, there are no reports of injuries or deaths.
Sonntag is reminding residents to call 911 for emergency assistance.
Fond Du Lac County is not the only spot in clean-up mode. Winnebago County residents also woke up to damaged trees across the county.
Ripon College is instructing non-essential employees not to report to work today.
Overnight strong winds that blew through Northeast Wisconsin will leave many residents cleaning up today.
