TOWN OF NEW DENMARK, WI (WTAQ) – One person died and four others were injured in a crash Wednesday in Brown County.
Deputies were dispatched around 1:45 p.m. to County Highway R/Main Street at Pine Grove Road in the Town of New Denmark.
Authorities say a Dodge Ram truck, driven by a 19-year-old Denmark-area man, was heading north on Highway R and attempted to make a left turn onto Pine Grove Road. The truck collided with an oncoming Chevrolet Impala.
The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Green Bay-area hospital. A passenger, an 18-year-old Denmark-area man, also suffered minor injuries and was taken to a Green Bay-area hospital.
The driver of the car, a 38-year-old Green Bay-area man, suffered series but non-life-threatening injures and was taken to a Green Bay-area hospital. A 6-year-old passenger also suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Green Bay-area hospital.
Another passenger in the car, a 33-year-old Green Bay-area woman, died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, and alcohol does not appear to be a factor, authorities say.
