RACINE COUNTY, WI (WRN) — Two men are dead, after what Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling described as an execution style shooting at a busy gas station Tuesday morning, followed by a shootout with a sheriff’s officer.
“A 32-year-old White make from Hartland approached a 22-year-old White male from Elkhorn, who was simply putting gas in his car, and was viciously executed,” said Schmaling. “I personally watched this video . . of this horrific event, and I found it to be extremely disturbing and heart wrenching to view.”
That shooter was shot and killed a short time later in an exchange of gunfire with an undercover sheriff’s officer at a second gas station. The investigator was hit and is hospitalized.
