GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The COVID-19 vaccine is going mobile in Brown County.
The Brown County Public Health department, in cooperation with healthcare groups, are operating a mobile vaccine clinic out of a specially marked Green Bay Metro Transit Bus.
“There are some barriers and obstacles that need to be removed,” said Brown County Healt
h’s Claire Paprocki. “We need to be bringing the vaccine out into the community, to physically meet people where they are.”
Paprocki says they’ve seen interest from church groups and hispanic advocacy groups in using the bus to bring the vaccine to people who otherwise may not have easy access.
“For example, Casa Alba is working closely with Brown County Health to try to bring the bus out to, say like a farm, a migrant farm, where workers have to work 7 days a week,” Paprocki explained.
Brown County Public Health says they’re willing to work with any organization or individual to discuss holding a mobile vaccine clinic.
