CENTERVILLE TOWNSHIP, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A crash on Interstate 43 resulted in life-threatening injuries to a driver.
State Patrol says it responded around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to a two-vehicle crash at mile marker 138 near Cleveland in Manitowoc County.
Authorities say a 2006 SAAB 9-3 was traveling north at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a 2011 Ford Fiesta.
The collision caused both drivers to lose control, and both vehicles went through the median and across southbound lanes of the interstate. The Fiesta came to rest on the southbound shoulder, and the SAAB stopped after hitting a tree in the southbound ditch.
The driver of the SAAB, a 24-year-old Stevens Point man, was taken to a Green Bay hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Fiesta, a 65-year-old Fond du Lac man, was treated and released on scene.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash.
