GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – The U.S. Coast Guard is continuing to encourage safe boating this season, and will be hosting three vessel safety check events on Saturday.
U.S. Coast Guard Vessel Safety Checks are conducted as a service to boaters. No fines, No citations. Just knowledge; that you have what you need, or not, and know what you need to do to be safer on the water.
The three locations are the Manitowoc, Sturgeon Bay, and Green Bay.
LAKESHORE:
Manitowoc Marina (just north of the river)
10AM to 2PM
DOOR PENINSULA:
Harbor Club Marina (West Waterfront by the Steel Bridge)
9AM to 2PM
GREEN BAY:
South Bay Marina (mouth of the Fox River)
10AM to Noon
Each location will have U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Vessel Examiners present to conduct safety checks for any boat owner who can have their boat at that location. All of these marina’s have transient docks available where captains can moor and have a safety check done. So boaters on the water in these areas can come have a check done.
You can also request an individual safety check appointment here. Federal Requirements for boaters can also be found here.
