GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The CDC’s updated guidelines for fully vaccinated people brings good news to Green Bay businesses. But, they may require masks a bit longer.
For groups like PMI Entertainment, who manages the Resch Center, the new guidance means the venue is a step closer to having the packed concerts it once had.
“We have things booked you know in the fall and things in the works for later in the fall and the year. Certainly a lot in 2022, so we’re optimistic and at this point planning to go full steam ahead for concerts in the fall.”
PMI Entertainment Group’s spokesperson Terry Charles tells FOX 11 conversations will need to be had before they have the OK to push up capacity.
“At this point the things about social distancing we don’t know yet. We’ve been working under the guidance of the Brown County Health Department so we’re always anxious to see what their updates will be as things continue.”
The YMCA in downtown Green Bay is also saying they need to talk with their community partners before making any decisions on lifting the masking requirements.
In an email to FOX 11 the Y said, “we partner with a variety of school districts and offer School Age Child Care programs in a variety of locations including inside one of our Y branches. There is a lot to factor in as it involves multiple buildings and many community partners.”
Hinterland Brewery is also waiting to make a decision. Manager Melissa Clark says they need to talk to their staff and owners before telling you to leave the mask at home.
“We want to make sure everyone feels safe here at Hinterland our guest safety is our priority as well as safety and we don’t want to jeopardize that,” said Clark.
But, overall, businesses are optimistic moving forward to get back to normal.
