OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The Oshkosh Area School District has begun the process of finding its next superintendent.
The district says it is using input from a community survey and board of education interviews to create a candidate profile and job posting.
“We are grateful for all the community feedback we received in the survey and we are excited to see what candidates emerge to lead our strong district,” board president Bob Poeschl said in a news release. “The survey drew 931 responses from parents, staff, business leaders and community members.”
The survey comes following the announced departure of Vicki Cartwright, who submitted her letter of resignation last month. Cartwright’s resignation will take effect June 30.
Cooperative Educational Service Agency 6 has been hired to lead the board through the search process. After May 9, CESA 6 will interview the top 8-10 candidates and present five to the board for consideration on May 17. The board will then select three finalists, who will advance to additional interviews, the release says.
The board is hoping to finalize the hire by early June, with the new superintendent starting July 1.
