APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) — A proclamation was made Wednesday morning in Outagamie County, urging people to take it slow in work zones.
County Executive Tom Nelson says it’s especially critical as traffic has picked up again as the COVID-19 pandemic wanes.
“This can be a real problem,” Nelson told WTAQ. “In past 5 years there been more than 13,000 crashes in our work zones.”
The proclamation urges people to slow down to the work zone speed limit.
Governor Evers also declared this week as Work Zone Safety Awareness week.
