HORTONVILLE, WI (WTAQ) – A boil water advisory is in effect for the village of Hortonville.
The affected areas are south of Main Street (Highway 15)after a large water main break.
The break may have caused a drop in water pressure and a boil water advisory was issued as a precaution.
The advisory is expected to be lifted as early as soon as Friday afternoon if water samples pass tests.
During a water boil advisory residents are advised to:
Bring all water to a boil for one minute and let cool before drinking or using for consumption purposes
Use bottled water if possible
Due to lost pressure, there may be trapped air and loose sediment in the water
Showering, flushing toilets and doing laundry is okay.
