GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – Green Bay area 4th District Representative David Steffen said he is still holding on to a strong hope that the state will move forward with legislation that would allow the transportation of coal piles and the redevelopment of the area they currently sit on.
“It provides the first $1.5 million dollars for the evaluation of the other site so we can actually move the cole piles.”He told WTAQ’s Morning News With Matt and Earl that the piles would move to the northern mouth of the Fox River.
“Think of everything that you are seeing on the East side of the Fox River, now is available on the Westside.”
Steffen says he has worked with a lot of bills, but this one has gotten more bipartisan support than he has seen.
He says he hopes the next big steps are taken by next spring.
