GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)- The Pawffee Shop Cat Cafe is the first of its kind in the area.
“I like cats, I like coffee. Why not bring them together?” Pawffee Shop co-owner Leah Enking said.
Bringing the cafe to the Valley has been in the works for quite some time.
“I started dreaming about this about three years ago probably,” Enking said.
The shop is equipped with a full coffee bar– and it includes treats.
When you’re ready to play with the cats, you can step into the cat room by purchasing an item from the coffee shop, or making a donation to Green Bay’s Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary.
Coffee isn’t the only thing you can take to go. If you find the “purfect” cat, you can adopt it and take it home.
That’s because the Pawffee Shop Cat Cafe partners with Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary to find the cats a forever home.
“Safe Haven focuses on cats that have special needs. So everything from being diabetic, to possibly missing a limb, partially paralyzed,” Enking said.
All the cats at the Pawffee Shop are adoptable.
“There are adoption fees to help cover the cost of the vetting of them essentially, so they have all their shots and are healthy and everything like that,” Enking said.
Just as Enking dreamed of opening the shop years ago, the public has been waiting too.
“What’s not to love about getting a cup of coffee and snuggling with kitties at the same time?” customer Kelly Schinke said.
The Pawffee Shop Cat Cafe will officially open on Aug. 31. at 10 a.m.
Owners expect it to be busy– so they will be limiting people to 15 minutes with the cats for the opening day.
