NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Kimberly-Clark is moving jobs from the Fox Valley to Chicago.
The company says its Neenah campus will become its North American Innovation, Technology and Supply Center. More than 250 jobs in sales, marketing, executive management and other commercial functions are moving to a new consumer products center in Chicago.
“This move allows us to capitalize on strengths in both markets and positions our business in North America for long-term, sustainable growth,” a company spokesperson wrote in an email to FOX 11.
The company says manufacturing sites in Wisconsin are not begin affected. More than 2,500 positions will remain in the state.
“It is disappointing that Kimberly Clark has chosen to move these jobs out of our Wisconsin, especially as our state is just beginning to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation secretary and CEO Missy Hughes said in a news release. “WEDC is reviewing its contract with Kimberly Clark to determine how this decision affects the company’s eligibility for job retention tax incentives.”
The manufacturer of personal products such as Huggies diapers and Kleenex facial tissues was founded in Neenah in 1872. It moved its headquarters to Dallas, Texas, in 1986.
