BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – The Brown County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the names of those involved in the fatal crash Monday on CTH G/Scray Hill Road.
A pick-up, driven by a male who was identified as James Schott from the Kiel area, was eastbound on CTH G just past Scray’s Hill Road when it struck the back of a low-boy trailer that was stopped on the side of the road to off-load a bulldozer.
The pick-up then spun around and flipped. The driver of the pick-up was ejected onto the roadway and the male off-loading the bulldozer, identified as Eric Anderson from the De Pere area, was struck and killed during the crash.
Captain Dan Sandberg of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department says they don’t anticipate that any type of criminal activity was a factor in the fatal crash.
“We have a case where one of the two people involved has died and the other can’t remember the circumstances of the crash,” he said.
Schott remains hospitalized at this time.
Sandberg says they are relying on witness statements from people who may have seen anything.
“No information is bad information right now. We always encourage people to notify us if they see something.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone that witnessed the tractor/trailer parked on the sideof the road and/or anyone walking around it or on the road just prior to the crash to call920-448-4241 with that information.
Sandberg says they want to put the pieces of the puzzle together so that they put closure to the case.
