APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – Appleton Police Department is recommending charges of first-degree intentional homicide in connection with the murder of Lee Ann Dorn.
The 60-year-old was found dead in February at an apartment on Valley Road. The next day, her vehicle was found in Kentucky.
At that time, police said the driver was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.
Police describe the murder suspect as someone who “who had a close relationship to Lee Ann,” and confirmed to Fox 11 he is the man who was arrested with her vehicle.
Appleton Police spokesperson Officer Meghan Cash confirmed today the suspect is in custody, although he is not currently housed in the Winnebago County Jail.
The case has been referred to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s office. No charges have been filed yet.
