TOWN OF LAWRENCE, WI (WTAQ) – Vandalism to soccer practice fields in the Town of Lawrence has the De Pere Select Soccer Club left without a place to practice.
The damage occurred at the Quarry Park soccer fields in the town of Lawrence.
Deep tire tracks appeared in the field Friday night.
Dusty Rhodes with De Pere Select Soccer Club says it looks intentional.
“They went all the way across the fields turned around came back zig-zagged a couple of times. So, it wasn’t just one little mark through one portion of the field it was up and down all three of our fields and multiple times.”
Now the question for the club is where to practice with 200 to 250 kids using this field 5 days a week all fall and all spring.
Town of Lawrence administrator Patrick Wetzel says they also have to look at fixing the field.
“I’m sure we’re looking at quite a few thousand dollars.”
The town is also looking at prevention steps.
“Would cameras stop something like this? would fencing? Those are the types of things were looking at,” said Wetzel. Hobart Lawrence Police Department is investigating.
