GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) – Grand Chute police say two adults died of gunshot wounds while inside a bedroom.
The Grand Chute Police Department is investigating the death of a 40-year-old man and 36-year-old woman in the 2000 block of W. Roberts Ave.
Police were called for a welfare check just before 6 a.m. Monday.
Officer Travis Waas says the incident is believed to be isolated.
“This is still an ongoing investigation, but the community is not in any sort of danger.”
Police say a firearm was located near the bodies in the room. Waas says they are waiting to release all the details because of the active investigation and out of respect for the family.
“So they can all grieve before this unfortunate news is broken to the community. Once we finish with all of that and we get results from the autopsy, we will be able to release more information.”
Appleton School District did confirm that five children that live in the residence are enrolled in the district.
