GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) – A 32-year-old Indiana man is facing charges after allegedly walking across state lines to have sex with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Federal court records indicate that Tommy Lee Jenkins was exchanging Facebook messages with an undercover deputy posing as a 14-year-old girl from Neenah.
Jenkins recently moved from Oshkosh to Indiana and told the “girl” that he would come and visit her.
Investigators say Jenkins demanded sexually explicit photos from the girl and she refused to come to Indiana to meet him.
The U.S Attorney’s office says he started walking 351 miles.
According to the criminal complaint, Jenkins arrived in Milwaukee on Thursday and told the “girl” that he got a bus ride to get to Neenah.
The man was arrested in Oshkosh and has been charged with using a computer to attempt to persuade or entice a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity.
If convicted, he can receive a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
