GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A man who had to be extradited from Laos to face sexual assault charges was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Jimmy Choumemany, 28, was convicted of first-degree sexual assault for the July, 2018, incident in a downtown Green Bay alley.
He was also placed on extended supervision for 15 years at the sentencing hearing last Friday, court records show.
Investigators learned days after the crime, Choumemany left the U.S. for Laos.
With the help of the FBI and other federal agencies, Choumenmany was located and arrested on Oct. 12, and the returned to the U.S.
