APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – ThedaCare has a new healthcare partner to improve services in the Fox Valley. The hospital is joining forces with Hand to Shoulder Center of Wisconsin and Neuroscience Group to create a multimillion-dollar care center.
The collaboration would create the region’s first comprehensive orthopedic, spine and pain center.
“It’s becoming even more clear that we have a common vision and mission for patient care,” said Dr. Steven Price of the Neuroscience Group.
With the merger of the three groups, ThedaCare will open a $144 million center, bringing orthopedic, spine and pain treatment under one roof.
“Just really a destination where you don’t have to have your care fragmented and go to multiple places,” said ThedaCare President and CEO Dr. Imran Andrabi.
The 230,000 sq. ft. facility off I-41 at Ballard Road will have medical offices, a specialty surgery center and an orthopedic and spine hospital.
Price tells FOX 11 it will also offer support services for total patient care.
“We will be able to provide the state-of-the-art, best care available anywhere, and it’ll be in a convenient location.”
The center will be an extension of the ThedaCare Health Campus Encircle.
Andrabi tells FOX 11 demand for orthopedic and spine services is going up with Wisconsin’s aging population becoming more active.
“A greater and greater number of people are living lives that are healthier over a long period of time, and so when you do that, there are greater sports injuries and spine injuries and things that you require that you may not have required 15-20 years ago.”
The center is expected to open in late 2021, with groundbreaking planned for the spring of 2020.
The organizations say the new facility will create about 75 health care jobs and the equivalent of 200 construction jobs.
