GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – More Wisconsinites are now eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Beginning today, everyone 16 and older can receive the shot. The April 5th date is three weeks earlier than what was originally planned for the Badger State.
So far, more than 3-million doses have been administered in Wisconsin.
1.9 million people have received one dose and 1 .1 million people are fully vaccinated.
As eligibility opens to everyone 16 and older, it’s important to remember that 16 and 17-year-olds are only eligible for Pfizer’s vaccine.
One mass vaccination site, located in Northeast Wisconsin, is Lambeau Field.
Lambeau opened as a mass vaccination site in March and is now administering Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson shots.
According to health officials, with enough supply of the vaccine, Lambeau could handle as many as 10,000 people a week.
