APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) – A man facing attempted sexual assault charges in Appleton.
Appleton police say that a 21-year-old woman accepted a ride from 32-year old James Tuchalski when the ride turned threatening.
“He alleged that he had a firearm in the vehicle in an effort to get her to perform a sex act,” said Appleton Police Lt. Mike Frisch. “She then got out of the video in an attempt to get away from him and he left in his vehicle.”
No gun was found. Police responded to the 200 Block of South Oneida Street at around 1:40 pm.
Tuchalski was arrested on recommended charges of attempted second-degree sexual assault and felony bail jumping.
Frisch discourages accepting rides from people you don’t know.
“You don’t know who is offering you the ride or their possible motives in offering the ride,” Frisch told WTAQ. “It can lead to situations like this.”
No formal charges have been filed.
