LOMIRA, WI (WTAQ) – Early Sunday morning a man was arrested in Fond du Lac County following a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle.
Just before 5 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received information about a 28-year-old Green Bay man, suspected of driving a stolen vehicle, traveling in excess of 100 mph.
Deputies tried to pull the man over on I-41 at Lost Arrow Rd. in the town of Byron, but the man continued, reaching speeds of 115 mph.
Near Highway 67, a tire deflation device was deployed.
The vehicle traveled another 16 miles before it came to a stop in the village of Lomira.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle tried to run away but was apprehended by officers.
The man suffered an injury to his finger. Deputies were unharmed.
Deputies are recommending the following charges against the driver: Operating while under the influence, operating with a revoked driver license, fail to stop at a stop sign, speeding, eluding and obstructing an officer.
