APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Family and friends of loved ones at ThedaCare long-term care facilities can once again make visits in person.
The healthcare provider is modifying its visitor restrictions, allowing in-person visits to resume.
“The in-person visits, reconnecting residents with their loved ones, brought a lot of smiles and long overdue hugs,” said Denise Gloede, ThedaCare Vice President of Post-Acute Care, in a news release. “For the past year, these families have been creative in finding ways to connect with loved ones, and we are so proud of their strength and resiliency.”
Under new guidelines, in-person visits — regardless of vaccination status — are allowed unless:
- The county’s COVID-19 positivity is above 10% and less than 70% of residents in the facility are fully vaccinated.
- The resident has a confirmed COVID-19 infection.
- The resident is in quarantine.
Visitors will be screened, and visits will take place in select areas that allow for social distancing. If a resident is fully vaccinated, they can choose to have close contact with their visitor while wearing a mask, the release says.
The modifications have been made at The Heritage, Peabody Manor and Juliette Manor.
More information on visitor restrictions and COVID-19 can be found online on the ThedaCare website.
