OSHKOSH, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network) — The University of Wisconsin system will pay a former U-W Oshkosh student $325,000 to settle a sexual harassment complaint.
The former student sued in October, alleging UW-Oshkosh failed to take action against former art professor Michael Beitz. The accuser says she had a consensual relationship with Beitz, but he began sexually abusing and harassing her when she tried to distance herself from him.
He resigned in 2015 and was hired at the University of Colorado two months later. Beitz resigned in May, but didn’t say why.
