OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) – A man accused of providing drugs that killed a woman in Appleton has now been convicted.
Evan Schultz provided carfentanil, which killed Kristy Austin at an Appleton apartment back in April of 2017. Security video from a convenience store shows the two meeting just hours prior to her death.
Carfentanil is 10,000 times stronger than morphine and is used to tranquilize elephants. It is also known to be cut into drugs like heroin and cocaine.
He will be sentenced on a count of first-degree reckless homicide on January 17th.
