WEYAUWEGA, WI (WTAQ) – Nobody was injured during a chlorine gas leak at a Weyauwega water well house.
The city’s Department of Public Works detected the leak just before 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at a facility near the intersection of South Mill and Sumner streets. Staff members called 911 and evacuated the building.
The building and surrounding area were checked and cleared by authorities. Two workers were evaluated by paramedics as a precaution.
The leak was reportedly caused by a malfunctioning valve, which has been replaced.
