CARLTON, WI (WTAQ) – Cleanup is now underway for a manure runoff in a ditch in Kewaunee County.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources reports the ditch is in the town of Carlton on property owned by Wakker Dairy. The runoff was first reported to the DNR on Monday afternoon.
Officials say the ditch flows into Sandy Bay Creek near County Road J and Highway 42.
Neighbors near the farm should monitor well water for changes in taste, smell and color. If changes occur, switch to another water source and contact DNR Water Supply Specialist Sara Fry at (920) 662-5147.
